School Resource Officers have many options beside force — New Journal & Guide

“SROs are not responsible for school discipline. We are there primarily to secure the school and to ensure the safety of the students and staff. Even in the most challenging situation, including a non-compliant student, there are other resources to respond to the situation other than force.” That’s what NASRO first vice president Don Bridges told the New Journal and Guide newspaper for a story about the roles of school resource officers.
