“A fully functioning school resource officer is engaged in the school environment. Their No. 1 goal actually should be to bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth. When you have that kind of relationship going on, there’s information that gets shared. That gives these officers the opportunity to actually intervene in something before it occurs.”
