“We really need a combination of the federal government, state governments and local governments to make this happen. The federal government seems to be really behind the idea right now in terms of providing some funding for hiring more SROs. There are some state governments who had already done that prior to last month’s shooting. And then local governments certainly have to step up to the plate, as well.”
NASRO executive director Mo Canady told FOX News Radio that although putting carefully selected, specially trained school resource officers in every school is a local decision, state and federal governments have important roles.
