2025 Election Nominations

Nominations are being sought for the following positions on the NASRO Board of Directors in 2025:

Secretary

Executive Officers serve a two-year term, and Regional Directors serve a three-year term.  All Officers are required to attend and participate in board meetings throughout the year and to attend the annual National Conference. Specific duties associated with each Executive Office are set forth in Section 7 of the Bylaws. Please carefully review all of the NASRO Bylaws before making or accepting a nomination. These may be found here or under the Membership tab on the NASRO website.

ELIGIBILITY   

In order to be eligible to hold office as an Officer or Regional Director, an individual must be: 

  • a Regular Member who is a sworn/commissioned law enforcement officer employed or appointed as a school resource officer (or substantially similar position) or as an SRO supervisor; 
  • have been an active Regular Member in good standing for a minimum period of one (1) year; and 
  • have completed the NASRO Basic SRO course prior to being eligible for elective office.

 ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR EXECUTIVE OFFICER POSITIONS

  • Regional Directors must be appointed/employed in the region of their nomination when elected and throughout their term. 
  • Nominees for Executive Officer positions must have served one full term as a Regional Director at the time of assuming his/her new office. 

NOMINATIONS

  • Nomination for office shall be made by a Regular Member in good standing and shall be accepted by the nominee, in writing, to the chairman of the Elections Committee or the Secretary and shall meet all other requirements as set forth in the Bylaws and policies and procedures of NASRO before the nomination can be accepted. 
  • Self-nominations are accepted if co-signed by another Regular Member in good standing.  

To Do:

  1. Submit biography, photograph, proof of competition of NASRO Basic Course and Campaign Platform.  Each nominee will have his or her biography, photograph, and campaign platform posted on the NASRO webpage.
  2. Nominations will be accepted here.

Nominations will be accepted beginning November 18, 2024. 

The submission deadline for nominations is December 31, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. (EST).

Election Period:  February 3, 2025 to March 17, 2025 (6 Weeks)

During this time, an email from an independent company with a voting link will be sent to all active Regular NASRO members.

To Do:

  1. Each nominee will have an opportunity to have two (2) email notifications to their respective region’s Regular Members. This step is not required, but encouraged.  You may send out these 2 different e-blasts during this 6 Week window at your own leisure.  Your e-blasts can be as informational and creative as you wish!  This is a good time to let your Region/NASRO Members know what you want them to consider as they are voting. That information can be coordinated with [email protected].

Election Period Ends at 11:59 PM CST on March 17, 2025

What to expect:

  1. Notification to the newly elected Officers shall take place immediately after the election has been certified.  
  2. The results of the election will be posted on the NASRO website once each of the newly elected officers have been notified. 

Appointment of Office: Annual Board of Directors Meeting to take place immediately following NASRO School Safety Conference, July 11, 2025.
