About NASRO
Founded in 1990, NASRO is the leading organization for school based policing programs around the world. NASRO's membership includes over 9,000 school resource officers, police supervisors, school administrators as well as campus safety, school security, probation, and other types of school based law enforcement and school professionals.

NASRO is the leading training institution for school based programs with emphasis on a safe school environment, emergency management, quality instruction, providing resources, and maintaining a successful community policing partnership between schools and law enforcement.

Overview of Annual Summer Conference
The National SRO Conference is NASRO's venue for bringing our members the opportunity to network with their peers, share their knowledge, as well as to participate in educational workshops and sessions that explore the spectrum of issues surrounding school based police officers, school administrators, D.A.R.E. officers, G.R.E.A.T. officers, school liaison, school security officers, campus safety officers, probation officers, juvenile detectives, and school counselors.

The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) invites trainers and presenters to share their expertise and experience as we celebrate our 18th Annual National School Resource Officer Conference and School Safety Exhibition in Phoenix, Arizona on July 26 - August 1, 2008.

Each year, we solicit members and colleagues to share successful or innovative programs and information with our members at our conference. This enhances the value for our attendees and provides opportunities for successful programs to showcase their "lessons learned" and to collaborate with colleagues.

Target Audience
A majority of conference participants are School Resource Officers and School/District Administrators working towards establishing and maintaining a successful school based policing program. The audience ranges from officers new to the school setting, as well as individuals with many years of experience working in schools and law enforcement.

Selection Process
The NASRO Conference Planning Committee will review and select programs that demonstrate the greatest potential to contribute to the quality of the conference. Topics must be of value and benefit to our attendees as well as to our new members. The committee will accept
Request to Present proposals that represent best practices, proven solutions, or would add to the professional development of our members.

All submissions will be judged on the following criteria:

    Overall Quality
    Timeliness of Topic
    Audience Appeal
    Well-Defined Focus and Learner Outcomes
Presenter's Professional Background and Speaking Experience
NASRO reserves the right to edit accepted proposals and biographical sketches before publication.

NASRO programs are non-commercial. If your program is selected, you will be required to refrain from marketing your products/services during your session. Under no circumstances should a NASRO presentation be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker's product, service or monetary interest. Presenters must also refrain from overt statements, harsh language, or pointed humor that disparages the rightful dignity and social equity of any individual or group.

You will be notified of the Planning Committee's decision in writing by March 30, 2008. Please do not contact NASRO regarding acceptance or rejection of your proposal unless you have not been notified by May 15, 2008.
